For what?

Interior Use: Suitable for new and previously painted surfaces, including:
Wood: Oak, pine, spruce, cedar, mahogany, redwood, plywood
Metal: Aluminium, stainless steel, galvanized surfaces
Plastics: Vinyl, PVC

Covers dark colours and stains caused by tannin, resin, grease, rust, asphalt, crayons, graffiti, and more. Also helps eliminate lingering odours.

Exterior Use: Recommended only for small, localized areas. Provides excellent adhesion and flow for topcoats on unpainted or porous surfaces.

Surface preparation

Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, level, and free of dirt, dust, oil, grease, mold, glue, or any substances that could affect adhesion. For best results:

1. Clean surfaces with ammonia solution, a suitable cleaning agent, or paint solvent.
2. Remove any protruding elements or peeling paint. Sand surfaces smooth after cleaning.
3. For exterior wood, use 80 or 100 grit sandpaper to remove damaged fibers.
4. Remove any existing stains and mold. Lightly sand fresh wood exposed for over 4 weeks.
5. Fill any holes and dents, and remove nails and screws.

Newcolours BLOCKER Shellac-Based Primer – Application conditions

Apply at temperatures between 18°C and 30°C, with relative humidity below 70%.
Ensure surface temperature is not within 15% of the dew point. Surface moisture level should not exceed 12%.

Application

Mix paint thoroughly before use. Avoid ignition sources.
Typically, one coat is sufficient. For highly porous surfaces, a second coat may be necessary.
For best results, prime the entire surface rather than spot-priming.
Use a brush, paint roller, or sponge with natural or synthetic hairs (nylon or polyester). For spray application, use a 1.5 – 2.0 nozzle at 3 to 4 bar pressure.
Do not dilute the paint.

Drying time

Dries to the touch within 20 minutes.
Second coat application: after 50 minutes.
Full coat adhesion: 1 to 3 days. Low temperatures and high humidity may extend drying time.
Clean tools with alcohol-based agents (e.g., denatured alcohol, acetone) immediately after use.

Coverage

Approximately 9 m² per litre on smooth, non-porous surfaces.
Approximately 7 m² per litre on rough, unpainted, and porous surfaces.
Coverage may vary based on surface texture and application method.

Warranty

12-month warranty from the date of production (in unopened containers).

Store and transport in sealed containers at temperatures between 5°C and 30°C. Protect from freezing.
